Hitachi Cable developed the world's first crosslinked PTFE with durability more than 1,000 times superior to that of PTFE, which has typically been used material because of its good abrasion resistance. This non-filled PTFE also has improved deformation resistance, several times stronger than standard PTFE. Effectively exploiting its durability, anti-deformation and less particle generation, it is used as a sealing material for pumps and compressors, and air valves in the machinery industry, and its use as a new material, suitable for medical purposes, is also anticipated, due to its high purity and heat resistance features.
