Comprising a long-distance transmission module and single-mode fiber transmission architecture, the GMC-1201/1201L transmitters are ideal for networks requiring long-distance transmission. In addition, they provide a link status relay function to minimize network impact in the event of a fault.
Deploying the GMC-1201/1201L in pairs at opposing ends of a line enables the following functions:
Long-Distance Transmission
Long-distance transmission using short-distance Gigabit Ethernet® (1000BASE-X) is enabled via the long-distance transmission port. The GMC-1201 is capable of long-distance transmission over distances of up to 16km, while the GMC-1201L is capable of transmission over distances of up to 80km.
Link Status Relay
The link status relay function automatically switches OFF compatible 1000BASE-X circuit links in the event of a circuit fault, then quickly alerts connected devices (switches, routers, etc.) to the transmission route fault. Connected devices can switch to redundant pathways following fault notification to minimize the impact of the fault.
