Ethernet® OAM |
Supported with : XGMC-2016 Series
Ethernet OAM is a standard technology based on ITU-T Y.1731, IEEE802.1ag.Network Monitering, Loopback Test, Failure Notification and other functions are available between products that support the standard.
Functions : CC (Continuity Check) for network connectivity, LB (Loop Back) for Layer2 ping and others.

Fast Link Relay (Link Pass Through) |
Supported with : eWAVE Series, GMX Series, XGMC Series
Fast Link Relay is also known as Link Path Through. It automatically turns off optical power when detecting a failure on long haul or remote user ports.

 |
Inband Management |
Supported with : eWAVE Series, GMX Series, GMC Series, XGMC Series
IFS : Inter-Frame Signaling
· Operation, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) messages are embeded into Inter-Frame Gap and no influence on data plane.
· Inter-Frame Signaling (IFS) messages include fault notification and other communications.

Bit Error Rate (BER) Monitoring |
Supported with : XGMC Series, eWAVE Series, GMX Series, GMC Series
It detects fiber deterioration before link fails. BER threshold is configurable (above 10^12) and SNMP trap is transmitted.

 |
Digital Wrapper |
Supported with : eWAVE Series, XGMC-2016 (LDW)
Digital Wrapper is a frame format standardized in ITUT*1 G.709 for optical transport network. It uses channel header and FEC*2 for wrapping data. FEC provides real time error correction function for stable long distance transmission and receiving sensitivity improvement.
*1 ITU-T=International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector
*2 FEC=Forward Error Correction

Loopback |
Supported with : eWAVE Series, GMC Series, GMC Series, XGMC Series
It verifies Long Haul (MUX/LH) connectivety.
