Hitachi Cable confirms interoperability of its AquaVocal all-in-one IP-PBX and Hitachi's Cozyvoice IP call-recording software
Hitachi Cable, Ltd. (simply "we" hereafter) has announced the successful verification of the interoperability of its AquaVocal*1 all-in-one IP-PBX*2 with Cozyvoice*3, IP call-recording software provided by Hitachi, Ltd. ("Hitachi" hereafter).
In recent years, falling prices and the advancing functionality of data communication networks have led to rapid growth in IP telephony systems. In addition, financial institutions and mail-order companies have expressed growing interest in recording communications with their customers to ensure compliance with company policies.
However, recording calls made within an IP telephony system ("IP calls" hereafter) generally requires dedicated hardware and significant modifications to network settings. Moreover, while the IP-PBX is the central component of an IP telephony system, mainstream IP-PBX products target large-scale offices, raising various obstacles to introducing IP call-recording systems among branch offices of financial institutions and small and mid-size mail-order companies.
Against this backdrop, we have confirmed the interoperability of our AquaVocal all-in-one IP-PBX and Hitachi's Cozyvoice IP call-recording software.
AquaVocal is a single-unit all-in-one IP-PBX equipped with various functions*4 for introducing IP telephony services into small or mid-size offices of up to 200 users.
The Cozyvoice software automatically records an IP call from start to end. The call data recorded for each individual call is stored as a WAVE file*5, allowing conversations to be replayed easily from a PC. The system allows users to record IP calls without modifying network settings, simply by installing Cozyvoice on a PC server and connecting it to the corporate network.
Combining AquaVocal and Cozyvoice allows even branch offices of financial institutions and small and mid-size call centers to introduce a system for recording IP calls at low cost.
We plan to continue promoting the integration of the AquaVocal series with various software and applications to provide more convenient solutions for using IP telephony systems. By doing so, we seek to meet the diverse needs of our customers and to expand our market share for small and mid-size office IP-PBX systems.
