Measures implemented in the cumulative second quarter of this consolidated fiscal year and results

Over the cumulative second quarter of this consolidated fiscal year, the Hitachi Cable Group has implemented measures that include the following under its Plan “BEGIN” medium-term management plan.

By expanding adoption of the Hitachi Cable Just-in-Time (JIT) Production System, already in place at all Hitachi Cable plants, to Group member companies in Japan and around the world, the Group has achieved various benefits, including shortened lead times and improved productivity.

In addition, the Group has worked on the startup as Group member companies and expansion of the lines of business of Hitachi Cable Film Device, Ltd. in the business of chip-on-film (COF) products for LCD use, Hitachi Cable Florida, Inc. in the automotive brake hose business, Sosey Co., Ltd. in the business of rubber rollers used in office equipment, and Hitachi Cable Austria GmbH in the medical probe cables business. Each of these firms was added to the Hitachi Cable Group through mergers and acquisitions conducted since the second half of the previous consolidated fiscal year.
