Environment

HEV power cable harnesses
Taking advantage of the technical capabilities with which we developed and supplied power cable harnesses offering high heat and oil resistance and superior flexibility, we've commercialized high-reliability HEV power cable harnesses for high-voltage and high-current operations. This product connects the battery, the inverter, and the motor - the heart of an HEV.

Enameled wire for high-efficiency motors
The powertrain system in HEVs requires light, compact, high-power motors. The Hitachi Cable Group offers the widely-used KOMAKI,* a self-lubricating high-strength heat-resistant enameled wire, which makes it possible to reduce the size while increasing the power of motors by improving the space factor of the magnet wire.
Our product line also includes Inverter Surge Voltage Resistance Enameled Wire, which offers superior high-voltage resistance and helps extend motor life while improving motor reliability.

* KOMAKI is a registered trademark of Hitachi Cable. Ltd.

Copper foils for lithium ion batteries
In addition to the ordinary tough pitch copper foils and oxygen-free copper foils, we offer various copper foils for lithium ion batteries to suit client needs, including heat-resistant zirconium-copper alloy foils. These foils will likely be used in the high-performance lithium ion batteries required by future HEV and electric cars.

Safety

Brake hoses
Brake hoses are important security components that control the basic stopping function of an automobile using hydraulic pressure. With their superior low expansion and high durability characteristics, Hitachi Cable's brake hoses are widely-praised and used by major car manufacturers around the world.

ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) sensors
ABS sensors are used in ABS systems, which prevent wheels from locking during sudden braking. Hitachi Cable's active ABS sensor has a unique structure based on Hall ICs that enables measurement in low speed ranges, which is difficult to do with conventional sensors. Their precise and stable output signal helps improve ABS system performance.
