Use of Apresia in conjunction with the F-Secure quarantine controller makes it possible to maintain current anti-virus definition files for network terminals. The F-Secure anti-virus client security application is preinstalled on client terminals. When terminals attempt to log on to the network, they are first checked via Apresia for anti-virus definition files by the F-Secure quarantine controller. If the definition file for any terminal is outdated, the file is automatically updated before the terminal is granted access to the network. This significantly strengthens viral countermeasures.
Another solution implemented in conjunction with the ResistGate authentication software enables authentication in three steps, with hardware and software authentications added to user authentication. In addition to preventing access from bogus terminals, this protects the network from unauthorized connections by admitting only terminals on which adequate anti-virus and other security applications are installed.
