Environmental Technology Komaki Series Enameled Wire

To improve the fuel efficiency of a car, it is essential to improve the efficiency of its motor, and as motors come to rely more and more on electronic parts, advances in electronics become essential to achieving enhanced fuel efficiency. Hitachi Cable's Komaki series enameled wire for motors features excellent lubricity, mechanical strength, and wear and abrasion resistance due to our proprietary coating technology, thereby significantly improving the space factor of coils. This allows smaller, more efficient motor designs, resulting in lower energy consumption.
Highly Reliable Heat Resistant Precision Rectangular Polyamideimide Enameled Wire is also being considered for use due to its superior space factor in comparison to round wire.

Harness Cable for HEVs

Practical, low-emission Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) are becoming more common. One difference between HEVs and conventional electric vehicles is that they require high-voltage power supply cables because they use motors as one of their power sources. Hitachi Cable markets an HEV harness cable that uses a Freorex(r) insulator with excellent heat resistance, oil resistance, and flexibility. In addition to its high current capacity, despite its compact size, this cable is highly regarded, especially for its ease of installation.

Material for Fuel Cells

Major auto manufacturers around the world are currently racing to produce the fuel cell- powered vehicle that will pull ahead of the pack to become the top next-generation Eco-car. Hitachi Cable is participating in the fuel cell development project as a member of the Hitachi Group, concentrating on the development of new materials for use in next- generation fuel cells.

Eco-Green(r) Cable

The Eco-Green® series consists of environment-friendly wires and cables using polyolefine resin cladding material that does not emit poisonous halogen or dioxins when incinerated and does not leach such heavy metals as lead into the soil when buried. Hitachi Cable's proprietary materials compounding technology has achieved these advances with the same flame-retardant properties as conventional vinyl chloride materials. The Eco-Green® series features a wide-ranging product lineup that includes wires and cables for general-use electrical devices and batteries, and heat resistant wires and cables.

Heat Pipe Cooling Systems for Electric Vehicles

Hitachi Cable's heat pipe cooling systems make use of the water evaporation and condensation cycle to transport heat, achieving heat conduction rates over 100 times greater than copper. This has allowed much smaller and lighter heat sink units and because these systems are constructed using water and copper only, they are easy to recycle and have very little environmental impact. These cooling systems can be used for a wide variety of applications including cooling and heat distribution of inter-coolers and engines, and cooling of electronic components and inverters.
