Since an RHQT-Nb3Al wire has excellent superconducting characteristics, its application to a 1GHz class NMR magnet is expected.
We decided to develop long-length RHQT-Nb3Al superconducting wires and successfully produced a 300 meter wire.
This wire has excellent superconducting characteristics: non-Cu Jc of 170A/mm2 (21T, 4.2K) and Tc of 17.83K.
Furthermore, the magnet wound with this wire generated an additional 3.2T, while carrying a current of 400.3A at 4.2K in a bias field of 14T that corresponded to 92% of the critical current of the short sample.
